The Trowse Community Web Site

The Trowse Community Web Site

First of all, let me start off by saying that Trowse Newton is a beautiful and scenic village that I would had I the money love to call my home. It is quaint and peaceful representing what is the best of Norwich and Norfolk.

I decided to investigate why I caught such an unusual creature on my camera. As I said in an earlier blog, my dog had sensed it lurking in the churchyard, although I was unaware of it's presence. I have to admit, I am glad that I had only sensed something, but nothing that would harm me, my husband, or my dog. I think my faith in the Lord sustained us.

Anyway, I decided to carry out further research into this beautiful landmark just outside Norwich and within walking distance, or in my case, motability scooter distance from my home.

I wondered what would have invoked such a creature into such a lovely village. The church and chapel are also beautiful landmarks. We had witnessed some youths on the way into Trowse Newton in the churchyard drinking and carrying on, which I felt saddened by in such a lovely village. How so few can scar the face of a beautiful village like Trowse Newton.

I had considered that maybe some youths had used a Ouija or practiced some immoral practice on the church grounds. Then I found this article on the history of Trowse Newton.

It came as a shock to me to find that in it's early establishment that the so-called 'dregs' of Norwich were pushed out of the city and from what I can make of the story were considered immoral.

It wasn't until much later that Trowse Newton, a village that I have come to love and adore came into it's own. I wonder if the scars of the past has brought this monstrosity forward, or is it there to protect those who are buried? I don't know much about this type of creature, but if you look behind it, there appear to be personages behind it.

It does make you wonder if this creature is something conjured up from the villages past, or from it's present. Either way, I love Trowse Newton and it's people.
